Head Teacher's welcome

Thank you for visiting our website and welcome to our lovely school. We have a very strong ethos here of being kind, it underpins all of our interactions with the children, each other and our community. When you visit, you will feel our homely, warm atmosphere that we work hard to maintain; indeed, people who visit often comment on the happy, vibrant and busy feeling around the school.

We believe that teaching a rich, creative and immersive curriculum; delivered by passionate, highly motivated and adaptable teachers, is the best way to prepare the children in our care for a life long love of learning and the confidence to rise to any challenges they may face as they grow up and become adults.

Our curriculum balances the core academic learning of maths, English and science with opportunities to explore, create, collaborate and of course learn in the foundation subjects. Our two-year cycle of termly projects are history and geography based (see our long term plans here) and where it supports building schemas we link other subjects so our children can really immerse themselves deeply in a focused area of the national curriculum.

We know that some children struggle to access learning for a many different reasons so our teachers and staff are adept at adapting our curriculum to meet the needs of all our learners.

We are proud of our inclusive and nurturing approach to learning, it's hard work but it makes our school a cosy, safe and fun place to be!
